Selena Web Headshot

SHHHHHH … Selena’s going to kill me for this but I’m going to brag about her here! (And NOT give her access to be able to change this page)

When we say humble, we mean, she NEVER toots her own horn and Shawn is always the last to know when she’s received an award or honored for the incredibly generous work she does on behalf of others.

Here are a few examples of why we’re so thrilled to have this EXTRAORDINARY woman work with us and our clients …

In 2020, Selena cofounded the Mid South Medical Mask Makers, providing nearly 30,000 masks to healthcare providers in the Memphis area – read all about it in this Shelby Sun Times Interview.

Real Simple Magazine (yes, THAT one) awarded her a Great Neighbor Award, recognizing her efforts to rally around a local veteran whose home needed major renovations and updating to accomodate his wheelchair. (PS – she still grocery shops for him on a weekly basis).

She was also honored as a Mid South Hero for her work co-creating and expanding the Little Helpers chapter in her hometown, teaching children about volunteering and giving back to the community by helping non-profits and charitable organizations.

Selena Silvestra Real Simple Great Neighbor Award

Selena Silvestro

Director of Ground Floor Strategies (and incredibly humble SUPERWOMAN)

Ain’t no one got more “hustle” than Selena Silvestro.

During her experience in Corporate Catering, she was called in to “rebuild” and “fix” programs that had gone off the rails – thus, explaining her ability to magically pull together community members, vendors, and sponsors for events and fundraisers with all the various nonprofits she’s been a part of.
  • Memphis area coordinator for Little Helpers family volunteer group since 2012
  • West Collierville Middle School PTA Board (Website, Social Media, Sponsorships)
  • VFW Post 5066 Auxiliary Board Member (Scholarships & Media Relations)
When you meet her you might be surprised to know that she only has two hands and two feet – because somehow her contribution is always MORE. Her results are always MORE.

She’s a mom of two great boys and puts on her Wonder Woman cape especially for them but shares her caring nature for friends and neighbors alike. Selena contributes to The Selling Agency as the Director of Ground Floor Strategies, bringing her extraordinary talent and passion to our clients to execute the sales and development strategies we build. Solving problems, getting people across the finish line successfully, and connecting people and resources are her natural superpowers!

Get to know Selena:

WHERE IS YOUR HAPPY PLACE?
The happiest place on earth is Disney of course!!! (Which makes Shawn cringe – put her on a trail in the woods and she’s happy! If her kids ever want to go to Disney World, I will take them myself!) My kids are young teens and I still swoon at those precious pics of their sweet faces enjoying special moments at the Magic Kingdom. Give me ALL THE PIXIE DUST! (I even have a Haunted Mansion purse!)

IN ANOTHER LIFE …
I’d like to come back as … someone who can sing beautifully.

YOUR ALTER EGO CAREER …
Trip planning director for Make a Wish Foundation or person who decides the big prizes for the Ellen Show giveaways!

I’D RATHER EAT NAILS THAN …
Go tent camping.

PEOPLE SAY I’M VERY …
Friendly. I’m a wee bit extroverted. I try not to be so “extra” but I just can’t help myself!

TACOS OR PIZZA?
Street tacos! There are amazing tacos made by Tony and his family (cooked in a small kitchen inside the Shell gas station on Hwy. 72 in Collierville!) Everyone – go try the food! Legit!

WHO YOU’D LOVE TO SIT DOWN AND CHAT WITH?
Seth Godin – Author and marketing guru!

FAMOUS PEOPLE YOU’VE MET …
I once catered for George W. Bush on his first Campaign Trail. He was meeting with the Michigan Business Roundtable in Dearborn, Michigan at one of my business dining accounts. I was one of 3 people approved to be in the room by the Secret Service. They gave us a special pin to wear (which is a keepsake I still have). He gave me the classy “nod and smile” of appreciation.  I also catered for Jean Nidetch, the founder of Weight Watchers. As a Catering Director for 13 years, my team and I hosted a number of business and political leaders. I’ve never met a rude one, thankfully! I also met Joy Mangano, the inventor of The Miracle Mop in Memphis. She was incredible! Shawn interviewed her for the NAWBO, Memphis Chapter
